What is Scar Therapy?

The RESTORE scar therapy method has been developed to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, to create changes in scar tissue. We work on both new and old scars, although newer scars will reap the most benefits.

We use a range of massage techniques depending on you goals and the needs of your scar. We will also advise you on aftercare including any oils or gels that may be beneficial and show you how to massage your scar at home.

Preparing For Your Massage:

Try not to eat a large meal

Go to the toilet shortly before your treatment

Wear loose clothing that provides easy access to your scar

You may choose to trim pubic hair before to minimise any pulling on the area*

*This is not essential and completely your choice

The Results:

You may notice changes immediately, or you in the first couple of days after treatment. Some people require 2-4 treatments before any significant changes are observed.

If cosmetic change is important to you, we highly recommend taking pictures as gradual changes may be hard to recognise, and having comparison photos are helpful. It can be useful to view the scar from different angles (front, side, scar lifted) and positions (standing vs lying).
